About
Here at UglyCry we want to help people💧 feel their feels 💧. And we think movies are a beautiful medium for that.
We also recognize that 💧 every cry is personal 💧. Whether you’re going through a heart-wrenching breakup or you’re decades into exploring your mama trauma — movies just don’t hit everyone the same way. So you’ll find on each movie page, a section of #tags with our take on the ‘soft spots’ it might hit. Use them as a guide, and who knows, maybe you’ll learn a little more about who you are and what you care about. Or at the very least, let yourself have that ugly cry you really needed.
Yes technically this is “ratings” site, but it’s less about the reviews but more about what a movie meant to you.
So take a lil’ browse…shed a few tears…and remember— the uglier, the better 🙂.
Who we are
Stephanie Ham
I want to live feeling my emotions deeply. And for me, film, art, music —stories— have been a powerful way to help process my own experiences.
I love how art can feel intensely personal, yet be so universal. That’s what inspired me to create Ugly Cry—a tribute to the shared human experiences and the art that helps us embrace and feel them.

I’ve always loved watching movies and tv shows - especially the intensely emotional ones.
I love to create spaces that honor people’s emotions and authentic experiences. I even used to host “Crying parties” - where I’d bring friends together to watch sad YouTube clips and we’d all release emotions and cry. I’m excited to continue this work with Ugly Cry.
